The principle of a ‘box like’ extension is a common add-on to homes. Our approach at Marlborough Avenue is characterised by a simple autonomous language to the extension with subtle internal refurbishment and alteration to an existing traditional 1900’s style sandstone terrace.

The Island Retreat, located on the west coast of Scotland, is a family holiday home built in 1980, organised around a central living space with three bedrooms and a kitchen in a cross plan. Situated on the island’s main ridge, the project refurbishes and upgrades the retreat, enhancing the living experience and strengthening the connection between the house and its surrounding landscape.
